Dentures
Our Dentures
Are you missing several teeth?
If you opt for dentures a series of four to five appointments, spaced ten days apart, will be necessary to craft your custom-made dentures. At each appointment we will check them in situ and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the best possible fit.
Dentures can be repaired or relined but over time your gums will alter shape or even shrink and may require replacing every five to seven years to ensure maximum comfort and efficiency.

Metal dentures
These tend to be slightly more expensive but have several advantages as they are stronger and less noticeable and require less relining than acrylic ones. As they are attached directly to the teeth they are highly stable. Those cast in chrome cobalt have the advantage of being much thinner but still
offer the same strength as thicker ones.
Acrylic dentures
These are the cheapest and most adaptable option, enabling additional replacement teeth to be added easily as and when required. However they are brittle and will break more easily. Patients tend to be more aware of them in the mouth and they need to be relined more often to ensure an
optimal fit.
Valplast dentures
Consisting of a nylon-type material, Valpalst is an ideal material for dentures. It is strong and almost unbreakable but also very light and stable providing a great base for replacement teeth. The team at Smiles are expert in creating, fitting and maintaining our clients’ dentures. From your
initial consultation, to the recommended follow up and maintenance appointments, we can help you to feel confident in your choice and comfortable in everyday life.

It will also enable us to ask you a few health-based questions which may highlight possible contraindications to having such treatments. In this case, we will be able to advise you of alternative options. Your health and safety is of paramount importance to us and we always endeavour to ensure the safest and optimal outcome for you.
