COVID 19

GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE RETURN OF DENTAL SERVICES IN ENGLAND.

We, like you, learned of the government’s plans for dental practices to re-open from Monday 8th June during the briefing. of the Prime Minister on the 28th of May

At the moment, and so that you are fully aware, only dental practices who can evaluate that they have the PPE (personal protective equipment) and IPC (infection prevention and control) requirements in place are allowed to welcome back patients. Fortunately, we at Smiles on Broadway have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare for our re-opening, to ensure that it is safe for both patients and staff to return.

In light of the Prime Minister’s briefing, we will be in touch with our valued patients in the coming weeks about any further updates that will occur.

Whilst we prepare for our re-opening, however, we respectfully ask that you do not call the practice to book any routine appointments. Initial appointments will be prioritised for emergencies only

From all of us at Smiles on Broadway, we thank you for your patience through these trying times

Continue to remain safe and we will see you soon.

Spider veins

Spider vein treatment

Thread Veins, also known as Spider Veins, are a very common problem and occur as a result of the vein becoming dilated. As a result, their size increases causing them to be visible under the skin.

The Fotona Nd:YAG is an effective method of laser thread vein removal for both the face and legs and is offered by our qualified practitioners.

Clients requiring laser thread vein removal can choose to either have the visible vein completely removed or treatment to reduce its appearance. This works for both red and blue veins.

Treatment Summary

This is relatively comfortable treatment requiring minimal downtime, with clients able to resume normal activities within a couple of days.

Clients often tell us that the treatment feels similar to the snap of an elastic band, with little discomfort and no damage to surrounding tissue.

How does it work?

The laser targets the haemoglobin within the veins at 1064nm but leaves the surrounding tissue undamaged. The heat emitted by the laser causes coagulation, or a clot, and the resulting heating of the vein walls causes them to collapse. Once this process has occurred the body no longer recognises the vein and it simply reabsorbs the white blood cells leaving a clear appearance on the surface of the skin.

Future treatments

To achieve the best results we advise at least two treatments roughly six weeks apart

Pre-Treatment Consultation

At Smiles, we feel it important to offer a no-obligation consultation to anyone who is considering treatment. This will enable us to fully explain the products we use and what is involved in the delivery of the treatment.  It will also enable us to ask you a few health-based questions which may highlight possible contraindications to having such treatments. In this case, we will be able to advise you of alternative options. Your health and safety is of paramount importance to us and we always endeavour to ensure the safest and optimal outcome for you.

Frequently asked questions

Does laser spider vein removal work?

Lasers are a very effective and safe method used to treat unsightly veins. Immediately after the area may be a little red or swollen but this soon disappears and improvement will be seen between two and six weeks post  treatment.

Is laser vein treatment painful?

Undertaking laser treatment, for the removal of problematic veins, is far less painful than vein ligation. Recovery time is quicker and only local anaesthesia or light sedative is required.

How to get rid of spider veins?

Laser vein treatment is the ideal way to treat spider veins. Their appearance will gradually fade and disappear but it may take several treatments to fully close spider veins in the legs. In a few cases they could reappear but your therapist will always advise you about future treatments and options.

Is this laser treatment suitable for varicose veins?

This treatment is suitable for minor varicose veins however, as these tend to be larger and more swollen than thread veins we will advise you on the best treatment for you at your initial consultation and if necessary suggest consulting with a doctor.

Does Smiles offer laser eye vein removal?

Treatments within our laser vein removal centre are for the face and body. We do not offer laser eye vein removal.
