GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE RETURN OF DENTAL SERVICES IN ENGLAND.

We, like you, learned of the government’s plans for dental practices to re-open from Monday 8th June during the briefing. of the Prime Minister on the 28th of May

At the moment, and so that you are fully aware, only dental practices who can evaluate that they have the PPE (personal protective equipment) and IPC (infection prevention and control) requirements in place are allowed to welcome back patients. Fortunately, we at Smiles on Broadway have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare for our re-opening, to ensure that it is safe for both patients and staff to return.

In light of the Prime Minister’s briefing, we will be in touch with our valued patients in the coming weeks about any further updates that will occur.

Whilst we prepare for our re-opening, however, we respectfully ask that you do not call the practice to book any routine appointments. Initial appointments will be prioritised for emergencies only

From all of us at Smiles on Broadway, we thank you for your patience through these trying times

Continue to remain safe and we will see you soon.

Looking to remove skin tags?

Skin tags, whilst not dangerous to your health, are very common and a cause of much stress and embarrassment for many people, women in-particular. They appear in armpits, folds of the groin, below the breast area, and in the eye and neck regions often as a result of clothing rubbing the skin. They can cause irritation and annoyance sometimes catching on straps and clothing resulting in a little bleeding.

We have treated many people at Smiles with our high-tech laser helping to restore their confidence by giving them the freedom not to hide away, covering up the affected areas. Read More …

Are they dangerous or a sign of illness?
Skin tags are small flaps or lumps of benign tissue that are connected to the surface by a stalk. They affect both men and women and are seen more often in mature or older people. They are not an indicator of poor health nor are they a sign of illness. They are just an unwanted and annoying common occurrence.

Treatment Summary

There are a number of ways to treat skin tags ranging from homemade remedies, which we would always advise against, to various modern procedures. At Smiles we have successfully treated many clients using The Fotona laser. This is a very safe and simple process and delivers excellent results often only requiring a single appointment.

The benefit of laser treatment is that it is minimally invasive. A numbing cream may be put on the area beforehand. The procedure itself is very quick with the results seen immediately.

A beam of light is directed at the skin tag. As it starts to penetrate the surface, it begins to destroy thin layers of the root of the tag. It is incredibly accurate and does not harm the surrounding skin tissue meaning clients have minimal or no scarring.

You may experience a little swelling or redness, but this will soon disappear.

Pre-Treatment Consultation

At Smiles, we feel it important to offer a no-obligation consultation to anyone who is considering treatment. This will enable us to fully explain the products we use and what is involved in the delivery of the treatment.  It will also enable us to ask you a few health-based questions which may highlight possible contraindications to having such treatments. In this case, we will be able to advise you of alternative options. Your health and safety is of paramount importance to us and we always endeavour to ensure the safest and optimal outcome for you.

Once you have undergone treatment, there is very little aftercare required.

Can you treat a patient with multiple skin tags?

People often present with multiple skin tags and our expert team can advise on the number of treatments you will need at your initial consultation. Depending on the extent of the area affected and their individual size, it may be possible to resolve the problem with only one or two sessions.

It is highly unlikely that once removed it will grow back, however it may be that you could see new tags grow very close to the treated area.
