Chemical Peel
Facial Peels
A very popular treatment here in our clinic, and in our opinion one of the best facial peels available, this type of facial peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure that works by encouraging cell turn over. A chemical solution is applied to remove the upper layers of the skin. The process is very effective in improving the problems of a dull appearance and problems associated with acne and enables any new skin that grows back to have a smoother and younger appearance.
At Smiles we recommend using the Epionce System for facial peels to:
- Target the signs of skin aging
- Lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

- Reduce acne and Rosacea
- Minimises the appearance of scars

30 – 60 Minutes

The process involves four key stages:

- Malic Avid in a 50% concentration is applied to encourage cell turnover
- Finally a neutraliser is used to calm and soothe the skin

The Lite Peel
Using a concentration of 30% Malic Acid and 5% Salicylic Acid this is the less aggressive of the two and is perfect to try if this is your first experience or if you are considering face peels as a regular smoothing and brightening treatment. An added bonus is that no downtime is required.
The peel itself works in a three way process by:
- Providing a positive anti-oxidant effect
- Contains anti-inflammatory properties
- Promotes collagen production
The Corrective Peel
The individual stages or steps in the process can be stand alone treatments or used together. They can be customised by our experienced therapists to meet your individual requirements and consist of 28% Salicylic Acid and 50% Malic Acid. You will feel a mild tingling during treatment and experience some skin flaking the following week.

Epionce Peel Aftercare
We stock a number of post treatment products to help you to sustain the benefits of your treatment such as anti-aging serums, restorative hand and body, lotions, SPF protection sunscreen and an essential recovery kit to use once home to restore barrier function and hydrate the skins surface.
Clinical Relief for Symptoms of Acne
A useful addition to the Epionce range, are their Purifying wash and spot gel.
Whilst acne is common in adolescents, adults can also suffer. Most treatments aimed at teenagers contain Benzoyl peroxide or other harsher chemicals which will exacerbate the often drier or more sensitive skin. The Epionce range is specially formulated to be kinder to the skin and as such is far less inflammatory.
Frequently asked questions
Are facial peels safe?
Yes they are but it is recommended that you seek the advice of our professional practitioner for a consultation prior to undertaking any treatment.
This procedure not only unclogs the pores but will also reduce the size of them. By clearing the blockage circulation is improved which will also help reduce inflammation.
How long will my face peel after a treatment?
Peeling usually lasts for 3-5 days but will depend on the specific treatment that you have chosen. A regime of gentle cleansing, moisturising and sunscreen will be advised, but strenuous exercise that could cause sweating should be avoided for three days.
How do I get rid of peeling skin on my face?
Your practitioner will advise you on this at the time of your treatment but as a general rule avoid using a cleanser with alpha hydroxyl acids, alcohol or perfume. Instead use a clean, lukewarm cloth and rub the surface very gently.
Is it normal to experience a break out after a chemical peel?
This is a perfectly normal side effect as chemical peels accelerate cell turnover. or renewal.
